Ke-Esa-annya sebagai pengatur memberikannya berbagai pilihan bagaimana kisah-kisah dalam "film"nya harus diakhiri. apakah berakhir "happy ending" atau "bad ending". hal itu adalah authoritasnya sebagai sutradara. Tuhan yang seperti inilah yang dipercayai oleh Annisa, tokoh utama perempuan dalamfilm ini. Latar belakangnya sebagai Artis yang di Cap "gagal' oleh orang - orang disekitarnya hanya karena bermodalkan kecantikan, Ayahnya yang telah meninggal serta ibunya yang kawin-cerai yang diberitakan oleh media secara luas juga meninggalkan luka yang dalam bagi kehidupannya. terlebih ketika sang ibu mencoba untuk menjodohkan dirinya ke seorang lelaki Cina tua yang juga kaya raya dan seagama dengannya. Hal-hal tersebut yang membuatnya merasa bahwa dirinya bukanlah dirinya tetapi Tuhan yang mengendalikannya melalui orang-orang terdekatnya. otonominya sebagai seorang manusia hanyalah ilusi semata.
Pertarungan Filosofis antara kedua tokoh tersebutlah yang memberikan warna khusus dan keunikan dari film ini. Annisa yang kemudian "berteman dekat" dengan CINA secara perlahan-lahan mulai masuk kedalam dunia filosofsi CINA tentang TUHAN, Cinta, Keberagaman dan tentu saja "akhir yang indah". Tetapi pada klimaksnya, semua romantisme itu kembali sirna ketika tragedi BOM di Gereja-gereja tahun 2000 terjadi. CINA, yang mempercayai bahwa Tuhan pasti menciptakan makhluk-makhluknya untuk suatu tujuan yang Indah mulai kehilangan pijakannya. penilaiannya tentang Tuhan berubah drastis. Tuhan dinilainya hanya sebagai konsep yang hanya menimbulkan pertikaian, perang dan kehancuran diantara umat manusia. bahkan disatu sisi, digambarkan CINA yang mulai mencoba menampikkan adanya Tuhan dalam hidupnya dengan menjadi atheis. Kecintaannya terhadap Tuhan hilang. Ia hanya mempercayai Cintanya terhadap Annisa.
Perubahan-perubahan didalam diri CINA lah Annisa kembali meragukan filosofi Tuhan sang arsitek. Ia kembali kenilai-nilai filosofis Tuhan sebagaiDirector sebagaimana yang dipercayainya. Ia Menikahi laki-laki pilihan ibunya. di akhir cerita, CINA juga melihat bahwa semua yang dilakukan Tuhan adalah sesuai dengan yang diinginkannya sebagai sangDirector .
